You can use large tag such as GST.

Tags such as GST and Halo can be directly attached to ORF using PCR, by Overlap Extension aka “Joining PCR” or “Splicing by Overlap Extention, SOE” . You do not need to do ligation with a liner plasmid vector. See the protocol section for details.
